Bitcoin postage: keep apartment numbers on shipping labels
A shipping label can have the right street and still miss the apartment. When you buy bitcoin postage, check the final PDF before the package leaves your hands. The street, unit, city and postal code all need a look.
Apartment numbers deserve their own check
Keep the complete unit number with its apartment or suite designator: APT 1201-B, for example, or STE 900. Confirm the exact address with the recipient before purchasing.
The letter matters. Apartment 1201 and apartment 1201-B may be different destinations. Don’t remove part of an apartment number just to make the address look tidier.
A forwarding code needs the recipient’s instructions
A warehouse suite and a customer’s forwarding identifier do different jobs. Ask the recipient for the exact format their forwarding company requires. Guessing that an unfamiliar code is an apartment number can leave the package difficult to sort when it reaches the warehouse.
Before printing, compare these fields against the recipient’s instructions:
- Recipient or business name.
- Street number and street name.
- Complete apartment, room or suite number, including any letter.
- Forwarding identifier, if required.
- City, state and postal code.
An address-verification success alone doesn’t prove every customer-entered detail appears on the purchased label. The PDF is what goes on the box.
Check the label before drop-off
If the unit is missing, pause and request a correction before using that label. Keep the order ID handy so support can locate the purchase.
You can buy shipping labels with Bitcoin, check the Bitcoin shipping labels FAQ, or recover your shipping order when you need your existing label. Open the PDF, check the full address, then print.
